I believe EVERYONE should have access to nature, art, and outdoor activities regardless of income.
My quest to connect people with naturePeople say the nicest things…

“If I hear an event will be a Winterberry-led experience, I am much more likely to pack up my four kiddos and go. We’ve had fun at the pop-up playgrounds using cardboard boxes to build forts, constructing fairy houses out of found materials, and listened to stories that connect us with nature! Can’t wait for the next one.”

My son is diagnosed with some anxiety disorders and finds it difficult to approach unfamiliar people. When we encountered Heather at a booth set up with flowers, twigs, rocks my son became curious. He walked by several times until she encouraged him to join her in making art. They proceeded to sit down, and create. This was a few years ago and my son still talks about it to this day.

Winterberry’s art and community engagement not only encourages kids in their love of nature, but also encourages adults to remember that childlike love for the outdoors. That is what I feel when I look at her nature inspired artwork. It encourages me to get outside no matter the weather. I’ve even tried my hand at nature as well.
